The Ombudsman’s delegation (Deputy Ombudsman, two Ombudsman’s advisers authorised to perform the NPM tasks, NGO representative member of the NPM, Ombudsman’s adviser for international cooperation and the Office interim) paid the visit on November 22-23, 2012 to the NPM of the Republic of Slovenia, operating from March 2008 within the Slovenian Ombudsman’s institution.
On this occasion members of our delegation were informed about the organisation and manner of work of the NPM and exchanged experiences with the Slovenian colleagues on relevant issues regarding the functioning of the national preventive mechanism against torture.
On the next day, November 23rd, members the Croatian delegation visited the Unit for Forensic Psychiatry at the University Clinic Center (UCC) in Maribor, together with the Slovenian NPM. The delegation had an opportunity to visit all premises and talk to the manager of the UCC as well as with the medical professionals of the Unit.
